The song is a little bit on the old side, but she reminds me of what kid's today (high school) will look back and call their Tori Amos. Well before there was Tori Amos there was a lady by the name of Kate Bush
Well Kate Bush was my sister's time and this song I remember for years (probably only 3 years from 1989-91) blaring out of the bathroom I had to share with her. Well compared to the fucking Siouxie and the Banchees or Sister's of Mercy (no judgment here just, as a teenaged boy listening to your sister sing Peek-A-Boo while taking a shower at 5:30 in the am can get to be a lil' too much. I digress, Kate Bush always sounded good, nay hot and glorious. Well I'm proud to say after an image search she is was and always will be a voice matched by her looks.
After her the next to take the thrown was none other then Tori Amos. She seemed to be the favorite artist of every single girl I dated in high school. You are welcome to look her up on youtube if you wish.
Now the title of the post Regina Spektor, the name alone comes out of some Bond movie to me. I am an unabashed fan of hers. If she gets as big as brit brit I say right on Regina. I once tried to call a girl named Regina in high school, her dad answered. "Hello" me, "is Regiiiiina there?" "Regina, is not here, who is this". "Click". Oh well, I learned how to pronounce a name that day, and here is a killer video. I used to think that I was the guy she sang about until the mime looking dude showed up at the end, now I think I might be becoming the mime dude. Maybe that is something for Carl Jung to sort out, she definitely strikes a chord with me, there is obviously some hope springing eternal in her craft.
